Manchester City did what they had to against Newcastle 2 days ago and easily covered the -0 handicap. Although they have been performing far better on the road than in front of their own fans, I will be backing them again today. The only absentee concern in their last match, Kolo Touré, has served his one-match ban and will most likely start again. City can grab the top spot with a win, atleast for a few hours until Manchester United play their match. Actually their last home match was their worst and they will be eager to forget about that one. History backs the home team as they have only lost 2 of their last 17 meetings with Aston Villa and won 7 of their last 7 matches at home. Opponent Aston Villa lost against Tottenham on sunday, which can be considered a shameful result when playing against 10 man for the major part of the match. Their only goal came from a mistake made by keeper Gomes. Last year these two teams were about equal, but the gap is now huge. It's the #2 inviting the #15, the latter in danger zone of relegation. Positive thing for the visitors is the return of captain Petrov, but Ashley and Luke Young will probably not feature again. I cannot see Manchester City losing again at home and a 2-0 victory is very likely.
